Good points
Incredible build quality, both bodywork and paintwork are to the highest standard as is the interior. I had wanted the TDi version because i own a Polo with that gorgeous engine that i have managed over 80mpg with, but could not justify the extra expense. Anyway i fitted larger 15inch wheels with 195/55 tyres which have helped the economy over a long run.The tank only holds 7.5gallons but i can easily get over 500miles on one fill up.
Bad points
Gordon Browns crippling tax on a gallon of diesel.Diesel fuel is only refined oil and costs nearly half of what a gallon of petrol costs to produce. If diesel was not as efficient then it probably would not be in Gordon’s interest to tax it so heavily.
Other comments
What i would have loved to drive was Volkswagens amazing Lupo 3L which i have sat in but not driven. With very careful driving 90plus to the gallon is easily achieved.
