Good points
The best looking and handling insurance group 5 rated car for many years. The lift-off oversteer is something else! Cheap to fix, great boot space. Sports interior and one of the best standard stereo systems for a car of this price, if you are buying second hand, you can’t go wrong, they are so cheap!
Bad points
The TU5JP 1.6 petrol engine is very thrashy and unrefined compared to the later ones and especially to modern day offerings, they often leak oil from the head gasket. Some niggly electrical problems are the only other thing that bothered me (electric windows, earthing faults etc.) Rear suspension bushes are a pain to replace.
Other comments
All in all, still a very competent car 11 years after it rolled out of the showroom, for they price they sell at today, you simply can’t go wrong!
