Ford Mondeo Estate
Good points
This is a very spacious family car which we have enjoyed for nearly three years.

Bad points
At 34,500 the Mondeo suffered a failure of the coolant pump and the thermostat resulting in damage to the engine at speed and a perilous situation. The engine died completely on a dual carriageway in France. Ford have completely distanced themselves from any comment or support in this case. The result was the requirement to spend ?3,500 on a new engine – which, as it was fitted in France, Ford will now not guarantee.

Other comments
A great car but beware of Ford – their sympathy, support and recognition of fundamental safety failures of their Mondeo Estates is lamentable. I will not buy Ford again on the basis of their support in this potentially life-threatening situation. They would not even offer an apology.
