Good points
Neat Style. Fairly low price. Good fuel economy.
Bad points
Many bad design faults. Seat belt rewinds and the metal scrapes up the door leather cloth marking it. Dash does not fit. Presses into the leather cloth of passenger door. Road bumps transmit up left hand side of car. Squeak from rear. Gearstick ”ticks” in forth between 50 and 60 mph. Eats tyres. Space saver tyre is so small I can’t drive down to my garage without the car bottoming. Hesitation when moving off from stationary.
Other comments
To cure the hesitation new drive shafts were fitted (car had done 6000 miles). Hesitation still occurs. Repeated days in the workshop have left me with a car that runs less well, less smooth and more noise. now at 8000 miles and rust appearing on under bonnet welds and various brackets. Engine moves so much the mounting bracket rubber ‘doughnut’ is rubbing away on the surrounding bracket. This apparently is normal ! My third Daihatsu but never again.
