Very well made, solid, good spec and excellent smooth diesel engine. Good room and carriage in both front and rear, excellent rear seat stowage. Good service intervals and cheap to insure.

I know I am not any more handsome than I was before owning this car, so I guess it must be the car that makes all those heads turn. Sit into a Z3 roadster and the first thing your brain starts calculating is how much this beauty is going to set you back financially. The sport seats are amazingly comfortable and they prevent your face from squashing into the side windows like a fly during those hard turns. The car grips to the road like glue. If however you do feel slight slipping while taking hard bends you should either get your tires changed or have a good life insurance plan because you were driving way too fast!!! The 3 litter in-line 6 is one of BMW’s best 6 cylinders, so don’t feel shy to push the Rpm’s up a little. You get kicked backed into the seat after 3500rpms and you feel the acceleration kicking in all the way till 6000rpm’s. This is my 2nd BMW and the service has always been excellent. Can’t say the same for Audi however.

Good points
This engine provides a very smooth power delivery with plenty of torque throughout the range. The fuel consumption is fantastic compared to my last vehicle (R32 Golf) with it returning on average 30 Mpg around town. It’s got plenty of headroom for all passengers and all the instrumentation is clear and concise. The build quality is solid as expected with no annoying rattles or squeaks.

Good points
It looks good and exterior build quality seems good. The interior is rather bland, but the controls are all well designed, and the silly stubby indicator stalks feel good to use. Renault has eliminated the awkward offset pedals the previous generation had. Steering is very positive, even if a little numb, and 3rd gear pickup is excellent. In fact the 1.4 has a lot of ‘guts’ at what I suppose you would call overtaking speeds. (40-60mph acceleration)It isn’t old enough to break yet, but it looks well put together inside and out so I’m not worried.
