Good points
The Volvo S 40 SE is a comfortable, practical 4 door saloon. Excellent long distance tourer. Seating (leather) lovely. Large boot. We do several 650 mile round trips in it on a semi-regular basis. Set the ‘cruise’ at 74mph (sat-nav) and sit back! Ultra-reliable. Has all the bells and whistles – electric everything. ‘Cruise’ is very useful. Winter mode on auto box 1st class – NO wheel spins through winter 2009! Fuel consumption (for a 2.0L Auto) an acceptable/good 37.5mpg overall. Insurance is Gp.12. VED 180 g. Visibility very good – no blind spots.

Bad points
It is a Volvo saloon, NOT a sports car! Otherwise, impeccable!

Other comments
If you want a comfy seat for a long run, without fuss, hassle or stress this is your car. Reliable as the day is long. Do use a good main dealer for servicing – expensive but worth it for peace of mind.

Good points
Good Visability. Easy to Drive. Economical & Quite Fast. Comfortable.

Bad points
Beware of Gearbox problems. I have had the gearbox rebuilt twice at a cost of £2k each time. Toyota genuine parts were used on both occasions but Toyota would not compensate me. I had only covered 11,000 miles in 13 months. Beware of the duel mass flywheel, there is a conversion kit which brings it back to normal, again Toyota didn’t want to know the problem.

A good car but Toyota after care is non existent, basically they don’t want to know you if you have a genuine complaint so beware of Toyota

Good points
The Citroen Synergie 1.9 is the most underated car I have ever seen. Its a seven seater peolple carrier giving plenty of space. Remove the seats its a van dual purpose. Have just sold an 02 deisel freelander and kept my trusty old Citreon, it is fab. Currently got 215000 miles and I would set of to the moon right now in it, never let me down in five years i have had it. If you are looking for a used vehicle and have kids family pet, this one is for you even if high milage if well maintained no problem.

Good points
I have always liked powerful cars with big petrol engines however this car has changed all of that. It is a fantastic drive with bags of grunt whilst giving me 50MPG average (Motorway). Its got loads of extras and sits on 19\” alloys. It even looks the part. Vauxhall have come along way with this new Vectra but they are still let down with poor customer service arrangments. Overall though I find it hard to believe that you can buy a significantly better car anywhere for the money. I picked mine up for ?15,000 with ?3,500 woth of extras and only 4,000 miles on the clock.

Good points
Tons of capacity, good acceleration, totally reliable, comfortable to drive, and up to 50mpg. They are reputed to run forever – one for sale on eBay this week had done 330,000 miles! I even felt well-protected as I wrote mine off on Boxing day! By far the best car I’ve ever had.

I know I am not any more handsome than I was before owning this car, so I guess it must be the car that makes all those heads turn. Sit into a Z3 roadster and the first thing your brain starts calculating is how much this beauty is going to set you back financially. The sport seats are amazingly comfortable and they prevent your face from squashing into the side windows like a fly during those hard turns. The car grips to the road like glue. If however you do feel slight slipping while taking hard bends you should either get your tires changed or have a good life insurance plan because you were driving way too fast!!! The 3 litter in-line 6 is one of BMW?s best 6 cylinders, so don’t feel shy to push the Rpm?s up a little. You get kicked backed into the seat after 3500rpms and you feel the acceleration kicking in all the way till 6000rpm?s. This is my 2nd BMW and the service has always been excellent. Can’t say the same for Audi however.

Good points
This engine provides a very smooth power delivery with plenty of torque throughout the range. The fuel consumption is fantastic compared to my last vehicle (R32 Golf) with it returning on average 30 Mpg around town. It’s got plenty of headroom for all passengers and all the instrumentation is clear and concise. The build quality is solid as expected with no annoying rattles or squeaks.
